ICYMI Week 5: “The one where God sees the unseen"

Read Genesis 16
    1. How have you experienced feeling invisible or unseen in your life, and how does Hagar's story resonate with those experiences?

    2. In what ways might we, like Abram and Sarai, be tempted to take matters into our own hands instead of waiting on God's promises?

    3. How does the concept of God seeing us in our 'wilderness' - our brokenness and chaos - challenge or comfort you?

    4. What does it mean to be 'transparently grounded in the power that established you,' as Kierkegaard suggests, and how might this relate to our relationship with God?

    5. How can we cultivate a deeper awareness of God's delight in us, even when we feel unseen or important to others?

    6. In what areas of your life do you find yourself 'fleeing,' and what would it look like to stop and face those situations actual circumstances before God?

    7. How does the image of God finding Hagar at the well and calling her by name inform your understanding of God's personal care for individuals?

    8. What are some practical ways ways we can respond when we feel overlooked or undervalued, without resorting to pride or contempt like Hagar initially did?

    9. How might the concept of 'stability' - committing to a place or relationships despite difficulties - apply to your current life situation?

    10. In what ways can we, as a church community, better 'see' and value those who might feel invisible or marginalized among us?
