EXODUS: Lessons in the Desert, Week 3
• Series: EXODUS: Lessons in the Desert
Today, Brandon Ting concludes our section study in EXODUS series with Lessons in the Desert, as he focuses on Exodus chapter 18. In Exodus chapter 18, Moses' father-in-law, Jethro, visits him in the wilderness and advises him to delegate his responsibilities as leader and judge of the Israelites. Moses follows Jethro's counsel and appoints capable leaders to handle smaller disputes, while he focuses on more significant matters. These leaders assist Moses in settling disputes and teaching God's laws. Jethro recognizes the greatness of the God of Israel, offers sacrifices, and blesses the Lord for delivering the Israelites from Egypt. The chapter emphasizes the importance of wise delegation, establishing a leadership structure, and acknowledging God's sovereignty.
